Sam Wade’s kinetic sculptures tread a fine line between art and engineering. An engineer by trade, Sam explores the long tradition of form-through-motion by combining movement and machinery with a particular regard for precision, humour and truth to materials. His moving sculpture are constructed mainly in stainless steel, brass, copper, wood and Perspex he likes to construct a sculpture rather than carve or cast it.
Sam is Vice President of Visual Arts Scotland, VAS, and a professional member of the Society of Scottish Artists, SSA, he exhibits widely throughout the UK.
