John Brown is an accomplished colourist, his compositions, whether abstract or figurative, reveal an exquisite sensitivity to the light, space and form of his various chosen locations. Six new abstract paintings arrive in the gallery from 27th June.

Caroline Bailey’s paintings are concerned with shape, vibrant colour and layering of textures, she aims to express something of the feel and atmosphere of the experience of being ‘there’. We are delighted to be exhibiting a selection of her paintings in the gallery this summer from 27th June.
Lachlan Goudie has written an ambitious 4 part series for BBC 2THE STORY OF SCOTTISH ART exploring 5,000 years of Scottish art from the Neolithic to the present day. The programmes examine the social and political history of Scotland and the events that influenced the artistic imagination. Lachlan considers how the willingness of many of Scotland’s artists to look outward underpinned the development of Scottish art.
