Colin Black

Colin Black's most recent work has been inspired by mist, especially that which tends to linger  over water. Acting as a metaphor for all that is unknown relating to the pandemic over the last two years he wanted to capture that lack of clarity as we look out and beyond. There is uncertainty but always hope as we look forward.  Colin's work is primarily mixed-media and landscape-based, he enyoys using colour to convey mood and collage to add depth to the compositions.   A graduate of both Chelsea School and Art and the Royal College of Art he has had a rich career where he has combined teaching at the Leith School of Art while being in demand for nurmerous solo exhibitions in Edinburgh and Yorkshire.  He has been a regular exhibitor since 1995 at the Scottish Society annual exhibitions.

We look forward to welcoming him to the Stafford Gallery Scottish Exhibition for the first time.
